Where modern life leaves its deepest marks

Success does not protect against any of what follows.

Trauma & PTSD Anxiety Depression Relationship difficulties Life transitions Grief & loss Identity & self-worth Perfectionism

Trauma & PTSD

When the past keeps arriving

Traumatic experience does not stay in the past. It lives in the present, as hypervigilance, numbness, broken sleep, and reactions that feel out of proportion to the moment, quietly shaping decisions, relationships, and the future a person believes is available to them. The work is careful and paced: understanding what happened, how it is still operating, and how it affects daily life and relationships.

Anxiety

The cost of constant vigilance

Anxiety in high-stakes lives often looks like competence: the 3 a.m. review of decisions, the inability to delegate, the mind that will not stand down.

Therapy looks at what the anxiety is doing, what it is protecting, and what it is costing.

Depression

Low mood behind a full life

Depression in accomplished people is easily missed, by others and by the person themselves, because the calendar stays full and the obligations keep being met. The work is direct and unhurried: naming what has flattened, separating circumstance from mood, and rebuilding engagement and meaning.

Relationships

Strain where it matters most

Visibility and responsibility complicate intimacy: questions of trust, motive, privacy, and power sit inside even long-standing relationships, and the people you can speak honestly to about them are few. Individual and couples work addresses communication, conflict, distance, and repair.

Life transitions

Turning points, handled deliberately

Divorce, bereavement, an exit or succession, children leaving, a public setback. Each one rearranges identity, loyalties, and the story a person tells about their own life. Therapy provides a room where a transition can be thought through deliberately rather than merely managed.

Identity, perfectionism & grief

The private weight of a public standard

Perfectionism, self-worth tied to achievement, and unprocessed grief are recurring themes in Dr. Nazarian's practice, including the mental load and identity questions that accompany motherhood and leading a family. The work examines the standards a person is living under, where they came from, and which still deserve to be kept.
